Downtown Nashville restaurant Sea Salt is stepping up to raise money for a very worthy cause as they hold their inaugural fundraiser on Thursday, January 30 at their restaurant at 209 3rd Ave North. The dinner, which will begin at 7:00, is a benefit for Nashville Gives Hope, a charity that offers aid to Haitian children.
The founders of Nashville Gives Hope spent the summer of 2013 visiting the Caribbean island where they discovered that many children there did not have access to essential school supplies such as textbooks. Some schools lacked even the most basic amenities and really weren’t safe structures to house children. Some used pieces of sheet metal to keep the rain off the children, and many schools are located far from where their students live. The overall literacy rate in Haiti is around 60%.
All proceeds from Nashville Gives Hope goes directly to help the children of Haiti, and this fundraiser could make a big difference in their lives. There will be a silent auction to help raise additional funds, and attendees will enjoy hors d'œuvres and cocktails during the auction. Tickets for the Nashville Gives Hope Fundraiser are $125 and are still available at the event website. Special couples’ tickets are also available at a discounted price of $200.
