Springer Mountain Farms partnered with Big Green Egg recently as a sponsor of their 25th Annual EGGtoberfest event that took place at Cool Ray Field, Home of the Gwinnett Stripers minor league baseball team. Springer Mountain Farms invited the culinary students from Miller Grove High School Culinary Program to join forces with them and participate in the event by coming up with a dish to serve the thousands of expected EGGheads that attend this event each year.
Under the supervision of Chef Keio Gayden, the Miller Grove High School Culinary students really knocked one out of the park with a Chipotle Chicken Street Taco topped with Roasted Corn Salsa and a Chipotle Ranch Sauce. Not only was the taco delightfully delicious, these kids really worked hard all day to feed a long line of attendees for several hours. A special shout out to Chef Gayden’s husband, David for his help, as well as Ms. Nalini Babb, from Miller Grove High School.
Attendees, vendors and event volunteers were impressed! Even though this crew wasn’t part of the “People’s Choice” contest, they had a pile of voting tickets given to them in appreciation of their hard work and delicious food. Springer Mountain Farms has proudly supported the Miller Grove High School Culinary Program for several years and was delighted with the opportunity to let these kids really shine! I love hearing them talking about how much fun it was and all they were able to take in from the day.”
