Just call them Charlotte’s power couple. Greg and Subrina Collier, owners of Uptown Yolk and the upcoming restaurant Leah & Louise, are showing off in unique ways this week.
On Thursday, October 3, Chef Greg will act as guest chef at the Outstanding in the Field dinner at Renfrow Farms in Matthews. This roaming dining adventure pops up around the world to offer a meal made from a field kitchen. They’ve partnered with well-known chefs, artisans, brewers, cheesemakers, and more since 1999. This is the first stop in the “restaurant without walls” tour of the South/Southwest.
Fresh off a James Beard Award nomination and a visit to the James Beard House in NYC with Soul Food Sessions, Chef Greg is sure to bring an amazing meal to the table.
Meanwhile, Subrina will host a fun, Alice in Wonderland-themed evening at 7th Street Public Market on Sunday, October 6. The Mad Hatter Brinner will consist of five courses (with brunch and dinner elements) prepared by Chef Greg, cocktails mixed by Justin Hazleton, and dessert prepared by Chef Jamie Turner. Guests are encouraged to dress up in their best Wonderland-esque outfit, and a prize will be awarded to the one who does it best. Tickets for this creative gathering are still available here.
While hosting community events and guest-cheffing around town, the Colliers are continuously at work gearing up for the opening of Leah & Louise at Camp North End.
